We have used them for years to add to hopped malt extract kits in place of sugar. This results in a very easy to brew, fuller flavored beer than the "kit plus sugar" recipes. One of these plus a Mr. Beer 1.2 lb. hopped malt extract kit also results in vastly superior beer than the version made with "booster." The hopped dark is not particularly dark and can be easily used in amber & dark beers.
